പെരിങ്ങൽകുത്ത് ഡാമിലെ ജലനിരപ്പ് കണ്ട അമ്പരപ്പിലാണ് ഈ മെയിൽ അയയ്ക്കുന്നത്. ജലനിരപ്പ് 412 അടിയിലേയ്ക്കു താഴ്ത്തി ചാലക്കുടിപ്പുഴ തീരവാസികളുടെ ആശങ്ക പരിഹരിക്കണമെന്ന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ഇനി ഒരു പ്രളയത്തെ താങ്ങാനുളള ശേഷി ആർക്കുമില്ല, സർ.

According to this average combined rate of discharge (tailrace + spill) is 63 cubic meters per second (63 cumecs or 63000 litres per second). This will go up many times over the next days if the IMD forecast comes true. A discharge rate of 200 - 250 cumecs is unlikely to cause flood except at a few very low lying places (it will depend on downstream rainfall and runoff too). But beyond that, more low lying areas will be inundated.
We should be anticipating a discharge rate in the range of 400 - 600 cumecs. In the event of widespread rains in excess of 20 cm in 24 hours, it can cause very severe floods. Hope everybody will be on the alert
